                             ----Storm Clouds Surround-----


Chaos, the creativity surrounds me. A storm cloud cloaking the horizon, sun flees in fear,

Dark clouds enveloping my reality, a barrage, smashing upon my brow, all day long.

Bright lightening, ideas illuminate my soul. My heart, white knuckled bound to steer,

With curses, this artistic ship, this vocal vessel, through this storm strong.



There are those that never leave the safe harbor, through choice or ignorance of change,

They see my errant,wayward behaviors as misguided, defective, believing theirs arrow straight.

Like a pure sailor, they believe they are clear minded, focused, my chaos theirs to rearrange,

And yet, for it's failings I sense the chaotic beauty, my artistic life, my ill chosen fate.



Those that have never existed in the artistic storm, can never know it's intoxicating allure, it's beauty.

My mind as though a sailor in the ocean of life, constantly on deck, tossed aloft upon these waves.

These storms lash me often, crippling yet crafting and creating , the unknown duty,

Knowing that these artistic storms, somehow from despair my life it saves.



This dance that continues, deeply internal,beauty laden yet frustration infernal,

Like an addict to the beauty yet begging for sweet release from the artistic attack.

There is beauty in the chaos, in the unplanned and unscripted, life more precious in the storm's eye,

But is this because the rope of  life, is always full of tension, the horizon always black ?




And thus, around me the storm swirls, thunder claps of clarity rain down upon me,

Pictures, poetry, stories and words lightening strike through the space of my mind.

And there deep within the recesses,the sailboat of my soul rides this storm, trapped yet free,

Far from the shoreline of reality, in the midst of chaos, artistic freedom, the essence of beauty I find.

In the Dark of Night

 Fly high oh pretty one, Wings beat strong and deep. Close as possible to the sun The dream,alive, to keep. Yet somehow, always clouds, Wrapping around and smothering. The dream it always shrouds, Always just out of reach, fighting. As tho, no matter how strong the wings, Tomorrow is just as dark and broken. Look around, no joy the dawn brings, Yet this seems to remain, hushed, unspoken. Still we fight on, as tho the tides we can turn, Who do we think we are, gods, such fools! Dreams,in our wake, as ashes, burn, As slowly our desire for life, it cools. Death, whispers, and entices, Of such release, could we just land. And still we judge, falling to its vices, Slowly we clutch death, it's warm hand. For when all is black and grey, A painless tomorrow looks bright.
